Seriously, I am so disheartened by both of those tools I'm thinking of emigrating to Switzerland.

But there is the R&R Hall of Fame voting that actually has me interested. For the first time we the fans can submit a ballot for the nominees; which this year are Albert King, Chic, Deep Purple, Donna Summer, Heart, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Kraftwerk, the Marvelettes, the Meters, N.W.A., Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Procul Harum, Public Enemy, Randy Newman and Rush (FINALLY!!) If you want to vote go to Rolling Stone's website. Vote early. Vote often.

Randy Newman got quite the south park "phil collins" treatment last night (along with honey boo boo).

thanks but i'll wait until the Garage/Punk Music Hall of Fame is opened (which will never be, of course), where serious music lovers can finally have a Hall not stocked by pretenders, layabouts, and billboard/top 40 pinups

I also happen to think that George Lazenby and the Layabouts dont get the credit they deserve.

I hope RUSH tells them to FUCK OFF!!! But they won't, they can't—they're Canadian.

anybody know if Steely Dan is in the R&R HOF?

I was marveling the other day at how excellent and under-appreciated Jeff "Skunk" Baxter is as a guitarist. And did Steely Dan ever make a bad album? Nuh-uh.
